LEAPTING to Deliver Saudi Arabia’s First Fully Robotic Fixed-Tilt Solar Project

LEAPTING has taken another major step toward transforming solar construction in Saudi Arabia. The company has finalized a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Aloy Charge for a 105 MWp solar PV project, which will be the first in the country to use robotic automation for every module installation step.

A Landmark in Solar Automation

This new development will introduce fully automated module installation using 10 LEAPTING-designed Module Mounting Robots (MMRs). Together, they will mount over 149,000 solar modules onto fixed-tilt tables in a 4L configuration, making this project the first of its kind in the region.

Construction planning is in motion, with robot deployment scheduled to begin in Q1 2026.

Why It Matters: Faster, Smarter, Cleaner

By switching to robotics, the Aloy Charge project is designed to outperform traditional installation methods on multiple fronts:

  • 3–5× faster installation compared with manual labor
  • Precision down to the millimeter with zero module damage
  • More than 50% savings on installation costs
  • Project completion up to 25% sooner

The robotic system also minimizes heavy machinery use and manual handling, reducing the overall carbon footprint and creating a safer working environment.

Investing in Local Skills

LEAPTING will also help build local expertise by training a Saudi technical team from Aloy to manage on-site module installation, ensuring knowledge transfer and long-term capability within the Kingdom.
